Concept: Wildlight Canopy

The clinic is designed as a calm, playful environment inspired by nature, using soft shapes, natural materials, and wildlife-inspired acoustic mural panels to create spaces that feel safe, supportive, and engaging for children and families.

Acoustic Design Approach

The approach I want to take is using different colored acoustic paneling on the walls directly to create a wildlife mural. This would reduce noise in the waiting rooms and hallways greatly while keeping kids entertained by incorporating nature and animals creating a safe and fun environment.

I also wanted to incorporate the “canopy” aspect by using circles of acoustic paneling differing in color and shape on the ceiling. These would act as place holders for lighting fixture which adds more depth to the spaces.

Material & Furniture Board

Nature & Wildlife as Comfort

  • Soft, abstracted animals and plant forms integrated into acoustic panels.
  • Shapes that are recognizable enough to feel friendly, but simple enough to avoid visual chaos.
  • Gentle palettes pulled from forests, meadows, and sky tones (greens, soft neutrals, muted blues).

Green & Healthy Materials

  • Low-VOC finishes, natural wood tones, biophilic accents.
  • Acoustic panel materials with recycled content, felt-based or PET.
